What does home mean to you?

Posted on Oct 9th, 2008 by Claudia Matos : A Teenage Aspiring Writer Claudia Matos
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 06, 2008:

Untitled
Home is not so much a place to me as it is a breath. I feel like home is that deep breath you take and you realize how wonderful it is to be you. How wonderful it is to be alive. Home is when you feel that you've found something about yourself you can comfortably rest upon. An insecurity that you are not afraid to admit and let off of your choking chest. Home is a feeling. A feeling where all problems are shut out from and all you focus on is a new way to approach yourself. To find yourself. Most of all, to love yourself.

Feeling at home is feeling at peace with the person you were, you've become and you will be. Nobody stays the same forever yet nobody really changes. There will always be something about you that keeps YOU together. Home helps that happen. Home is a mental stabilizer. (I don't know if that is a word, but it should be.) It keeps you sane. It's a reminder that you can get away from anything you want to get away from.

It's not so much a place, home. Home is a feeling that other feelings can't possibly pass through. It's a fence. A fence that allows you to focus on breathing and being alive for a moment.

What would have to change for there to be no war?

Posted on Jul 13th, 2008 by Claudia Matos : A Teenage Aspiring Writer Claudia Matos
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 13, 2008:

The idea that everyone must get along. As horrible as that sounds, let me explain.

There has been wars for only one reason--the fact that not every single person in this world will have the same beliefs or views on anything. Well, it's true. Everybody in this world is different. You can't possibly live in a world of diversity if we are all just trying to become one another?

This Iraqi war...isn't even a war. We aren't trying to solve anything. We are just trying to prove that America is what it has been in all of history. The king country of the world. The Land of the Free. We forgot what "Land of the Free" meant.

If we all just accepted different beliefs, different people, different lives...there would be none of this.

Isn't that what makes the world round? Being different? Learning of others?

Maybe it's just me.

I am scared to reveal my writing. But I'll write something.

Posted on Jul 13th, 2008 by Claudia Matos : A Teenage Aspiring Writer Claudia Matos
Tree
A lot of mess, and so much brutality
I wish i could just erase.
My arms are broken, and my lungs are choking,
And here I am, helpless to this place.
One person, one mind, so many hands pushing me below,
this earth barely feels like it's mine.
Corrupted and torn apart,
The beauty about it was forgotten about some point in time.
But I still see it, I still smell the scent,
of mother nature's glorious smile.
What to do? If no one else feels this way?
Living in the imagination of a child.

I want to say yes to...

Yes,

I am finally, no doubt in my mind, happy and confident.

What would make you feel better right now?

Posted on Feb 17th, 2008 by Claudia Matos : A Teenage Aspiring Writer Claudia Matos
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 20, 2008:

Beautiful
I would feel better if I had freedom, and I would feel better if I wasn't 16. I would feel better if I could walk out the house at night, just to see the sunset...even better if I didn't have to worry about my parents thinking that I'm just a regular teenage girl that wants to go over guys' house and do wicked things. I would feel better if I could find a very intelligent boy, who does not have a girlfriend already. I would feel better if I had a car, so I could drive anywhere I want to and I also would feel better if my parents accepted the fact that I am not like them. I would feel better if I just could live the life I want to live, because if I can't... I don't see the point in living at all.

That's what would make me feel better.

What imaginary worlds did you create as a child?

Posted on Feb 17th, 2008 by Claudia Matos : A Teenage Aspiring Writer Claudia Matos
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 17, 2008:

When I was like, seven or around there I would always pretend I was doggy paddling through my living room full of water. I had a ramp from my kitchen going into my living room, so everytime I would walk down the ramp I would just pretend I was swimming. I did this for endless of hours.

What do you wish?

Posted on Feb 16th, 2008 by Claudia Matos : A Teenage Aspiring Writer Claudia Matos
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 18, 2008:

Hi
I wish, the word wished, was never invented. Because, wishing is just a tease of what we want, that we don't have. And what we have, that we take for granted.

So, therefore, I wish, that all of us could stop wishing. And live. :)

What do you already know, but need to hear again?

I need to hear that life goes on, even if I already know. Because, sometimes, things just feel like they're going to stop my life right where it is, and it isn't an easy feeling.

When in your life have you felt most out of control?

I am a 16 year old saying this, and you probably will think, "Well, you will not think this way forever."  But, honestly, I believe we will never be in full control of ourselves, because we let things get to us, and it will always blow us a way that we don't want to be blown, which is why I say that everyone should just go with the flow.
